Reimbursement claims
Employers may apply to the Authority for a reimbursement of a long service leave payment made directly to an employee under the Long Service Leave Act 1976 or a corresponding law (e.g. long service leave law from another state) by completing and submitting an Employer Reimbursement Claim Form.
It is important to note that the Authority will only reimburse the employer for the period of service recorded with the Authority. For example, if the employee worked for the employer for 10 years, but has only 7 years recorded with the Authority, the Authority will only reimburse the employer for those 7 years of service.
Important
Under the portable schemes legislation, only the Authority can make payments under the Long Service Leave (Portable Schemes) Act 2009. Employers should not make a payment under this Act, as the Authority will be unable to reimburse them.
