Important client portal update

ACT Leave is launching a new client portal to provide you with a more streamlined way of managing your portable long service leave arrangements within the ACT. The new portal will replace the current system and provides an enhanced, more secure service

What's changing

The new portal has an improved user-friendly dashboard and heightened security measures with two-factor authentication, making for a smoother and safer overall experience.

  • Registered employers will experience the additional benefits of improved self-service functionality for:
    • submitting quarterly returns
    • requesting reimbursements directly within the portal
    • requesting time extensions for submission and payment of returns
    • overpayment refund requests
    • providing account access to additional users
    • accessing previous returns, transactions and current worker information.

Workers will also have improved self-service functionality, including the ability to view details about long service leave contributions their employers have made for them, view their service days and entitlements, register interstate service, and apply for long service leave benefits directly within the portal.

What do I need to know?
  • To prepare for the launch of the new system, the current portal will be switched off from 3.55pm on Thursday 28 November 2024. From this time there will be no access to the portals, including for ACT Leave staff.
  • We will email you to advise when the new portal is available, which we expect will be by Thursday 5 December 2024.
  • During the transition downtime, ACT Leave will only be available to assist with general long service leave enquiries. Enquiries which require information from the system will be responded to once the new system is available.
  • If you have an enquiry during this period, please send an email to enquiry@actleave.act.gov.au, and we will be able to respond after the new system launches.
  • To ensure a smooth transition, we have developed animation videos and step-by-step guides to help you navigate the new system. These will be available on the Resources page on our website once the new portal is live.

Your first quarterly return to be processed in the new portal will be for the October-December period and is due on 31 January 2025. The portal resources we have created will guide you through completing your return, but please contact us if you need further assistance.

What do i need to do?
  • Once it launches, you’ll be able to access the new portal through the client portal page on our website. If you have previously saved the direct link to the current portal, please update your bookmark with the new link.
  • Initially, for security purposes, only the primary contact for each account will have access to the portal.
  • When logging in to the Employer Portal for the first time, you will be required to create a new password and set up two-factor authentication. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete these steps.
  • After gaining access to the portal, you will be able to grant account access to additional users.

If you have any problems logging in, please contact us.

we're here if you need us

Change to entry date for new industries to Services Industry Scheme
On 3 May 2026, the Minister for Skills, Training and Industrial Relations announced that the entry of the hair and beauty and accommodation and food services industries into the Services Industry Scheme will be delayed until 1 January 2027. This is in response to the challenging conditions many businesses are currently experiencing.

The Minister also announced additional relief for food and beverage businesses, with phased levy discounts over the first three years of the scheme. These discounts will not affect workers’ entitlements.
